The Person
As a Subsidence Engineer you will be handling handle Subsidence claims and provide technical support to Adjusters appropriate to area of specialism. The Specialist will be part of the wider Loss Adjusting team.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Subsidence Engineer include (though are not limited to):
- Investigate and manage claims and aspects of claims relevant to area of technical specialism, carry out site visits and preparing case management plans.
- Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the relevant specialist aspects of the claim, including policy analysis and liability, quantum and future actions.
- Instructing and controlling other relevant technical specialists as appropriate.
- Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communication.
- Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims, and preparing specialist aspects of reports or final reports.
- Assisting in the development of less experienced staff members.
- Additionally developing working relationships with existing clients and helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients.
- Maintain and update files and records keeping fully up to date on any technical or legal changes which may have a bearing on specialist area.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements at all times and highlight any contravention to the Managing Director.

Education and Qualifications
- Extensive relevant technical specialist experience
- Relevant professional qualifications (ACII and /or ACILA qualification)
